Secondary School No. 2 is located in the centre of Krosno and it shares its building with a primary school and a junior high school. The school was established in 1988, and in 1996 it was given an official flag and was named after the Constitution of May 3. Currently, 612 students (70% girls, 30% boys) attend our school. In the school there are 18 classes .The school employs 47 teachers, of whom 13 are foreign language teachers.
Departments (6): medical, law, language, maths- physics, historical- social and economy departments.
Foreign languages (5): English, German, French, Russian and Latin.
Extra-curricular classes:
There are 20 after school classes (e.g. biology, maths, history, foreign languages classes), the School Cabaret, the school magazine “Klan”, the poetry club, the language theatre, the sports club, the European club, the internet café, the photography club.
School facilities:
The school has a gym, a body-building gym, a playing field; it also has an access to the city sports centre.
In the school there is a modern computer lab equipped with 15 computers working on DSL network, a multimedia centre, a library with a reading room .
Originality and attractiveness of educational ideas:
The school has worked out a unique Point System of Grading Students. The school also has its own syllabuses, especially for the main subjects in each department. There are also compensatory classes for first year students and special programs for talented students.

European Day - to popularize the culture of EU members; Competitions about Great Britain, France and Germany; Festive celebration of “Constitution of May 3”; The English Language School Competition, Inter-school Poetry Recitation Contest; “Get to know your city and the region” - tours; School Sports Day; Karaoke Contest on St. Nicolas’ day; School Christmas Eve - to popularize Polish customs and traditions; Collecting gifts for children from an orphanage; Christmas Day in Old People’s Home; School Tourism Day; Volleyball Tournament for Teachers; Prom; School Dance for second year students; First Class Students’ Pledge; Saying “Good-Bye” to School – handing in diplomas.
Experience and expectations connected with the cooperation with the schools from other countries:
The school started to cooperate with The Jean Vigo Secondary School in Millau, France. The exchanges of students from Millau and Krosno took place in 1997 and 2000. Our students also took part in the European Week in Saarland, Germany, during the school year 2003/2004.
We have also taken part in the International Festival of Fairy Tales in Gersheim,Germany.
The school is interested in cooperating with the schools in Europe under the Socrates-Comenius program and completing international projects. We are interested in subjects connected with the European education, ecology and the culture of our region. In the years 2006- 2008 our school cooperated with the secondary school from Slovakia, The Czech Republic, France, Italy, Ireland and Cyprus making the project “European Citizens? Yes, we are! How our culture has been and is influenced by old and modern fusions”.
Our strengths:
In the report about the quality of education by the Educational Authorities in Rzeszów from January 2004, the school was given a very good opinion based on high educational effects, highly qualified teachers, friendly atmosphere and caring about the overall development of students. The school is popular with junior high school students and there are more and more candidates each year. Our graduates study at most of the universities in the country and also abroad. The students take part in subjects’ contests, sport competitions, artistic events and they have great achievements.
Constitution of May 3 Secondary School No. 2 in Krosno is a school of creative peace, wise partnership, a friendly atmosphere, making demands, bus also understanding and tolerance. It is a school in which the students gain knowledge in the atmosphere of mutual respect, acceptance, trust, creative thinking willingness to be active and enthusiasm.
