For our project we chose HEARING. It’s about typical sounds which you can hear when you arrive to the Czech Republic.
In the first part we talk about the Czech musical scene. It was very hard to choose just four artists because we have got lots of good singers or harmonists. At last we decided for Kabát, Ewa Farná, Karel Gott and Bedřich Smetana. The youngest one just 16 years old Ewa Farná, she is of Polish origin, is very popular among teenagers and on the other side songs by Karel Gott are usually listened by the older generation, but all children remember his song about the little bee Maya. The Kabát (“Coat”) is a rock band for every generation. Their evergreens like “Under the pit” or “Little Lady” are well-know. And the forth artist is harmonist Bedřich Smetana. He played the violin when he was only five years old. When he lost the hearing he heard music inside his head and he continued in composing. The second part is about typical sounds. The lion’s roar, underground and school bell. The lion is in our national emblem, the underground is very popular and comfortable mode of transport. The school bell tells with its ringing when the lessons start and when they end. More information and details you can find in our PowerPoint presentation.
